What Al Gore didn't tell you.
(An
overview)
The planet earth is anything other than a simple greenhouse. It's complexity
and dynamics are vast and more complex. To refer to a greenhouse effect as an explanation of its workings is pure childish
science, its acceptance driven by ignorance and a wish to place everything in a neat bottle, in order to convince everyone
of an arrived conclusion.
The sun is not a constant nice even energy source, but varies greatly
and has done so for its entire existence.
The graph to the right shows a definite correlation between the suns activity
and the temperature of the earth. Are we surprised at this? It is something that Chicken Little decided to ignore. Notice
the air grab measurements from a single source at Maua Loa in Hawaii. Something that Chicken Little screams about as proof
of global warming.
GRAPH1
The
earth is billions of years old and its overall climate has varied a great deal. The key here is that it varies. The planet
is not a stationary object in space with its properties fixed at perfectly defined levels, by the temporary occupation of
mankind.
GRAPH2
Today co2 is
about 370ppm. Over the life of the planet it has been as high as 7000ppm. In the late Ordovician period about 450 million
years ago co2 was 4000ppm, yet earth's temperature was the same as today. Co2 has only once been this low in the planet's
history and that was about 275 million years ago. If anything we are co2 impoverished. There simply is no evidence that proves
that co2 increases the planets temperature. However, there is evidence that an increase in world temperature increases co2.
From 1400 to about 1860 the planet was in a cool period, sometimes
called the "Little Ice Age".
Temperatures today are back to the levels 1000 A.D. to 1350 sometimes termed "Medieval
Warm Period
GRAPH3
Ignored
by Chicken Little.
Prior to that time the earth's temperature
had varied even more.
GRAPH4
Note: both graphs are from
the IPCC, Chicken Little's sponsor.
The atmosphere consists
of numerous gases that are in a constant change, carbon dioxide, methane, and a few other miscellaneous gases. 95% is actually
water vapor. Co2 comprises only 4/100ths of all the gases present. CO2 is one of the basic gases on this planet that gives
it life.
In case you forgot plants use it and exhale oxygen. By the year 2050 humans will add 2,409 billion pounds/year
of CO2 to the Atmosphere, by breathing. Carbon emissions? With out carbon none of us would be here.
Some additional facts that Chicken Little likes to ignore.
1. Antarctica on average is getting thicker.
The mean temperature in Antarctica is Summer -5F to -31F
Winter -40F to -94F. And it's melting?
2. The Vikings use to live and farm Greenland.
Shhh, don't tell Al.
3. Nasa with their satellite and balloon measurements said that over the past 18+ years there is no warming
trend over the planet.
4. The thermometer was invented in 1714. Average year temperature
in 1822 in Albany N.Y. was 49.2. In 2005 after the industrial revolution it was 49.2. It seems that global warming is skipping
N.Y.
Chicken Little's graph was a combination of 2 graphs. The left
side was from ice core drills in Antarctica, recordings used from only 1000 years ago till 1890. What is called proxy measurements,
that can give you an idea of what happened in the distant past. NOT a direct measurement. The right side was from air grabs
from Maua Loa a volcano in Hawaii, 1954 till 2005. Are we missing some years here and why didn't they use air grabs in
Antarctica? Is it because they wouldn't show what they wanted to see?
Predicting the earth's
temperature 50 years form now, get serious they can't even tell us what Friday is going to be like accurately.
The debate isn't over, it's just beginning. To say it's
over is kin to saying stop investigating since we now have all the answers.
The real danger with groups like the Chicken Little ones is that they falsify and use bad data to prove an already formed
conclusion. The idea or morality of Science is to find out the truth and to do so by arriving at a conclusion AFTER all the
facts are in. Al's moral message was anything but moral, unless we can use it to define what immoral is.
If the
rest of the scientific community continues on the path demonstrated by Chicken Little the human race may very well be in grave
danger.
In conclusion; I don't, like you, really know since
we are not scientist. The whole Global Warming thing sounded kind of fishy, so I went looking. From what I've read it
seems that a lot of scientist are looking at data in one narrow area to try to understand the whole picture. They also seem
to want to ignore anything that contradicts their agenda. To issue statements that 2900 scientist agree to or disagree to,
is not very scientific, but rather reeks of politics. I was wondering if I could buy me a scientist too.
If it wasn't for the Internet I'd still believe what Tom Brokoff the scientist
told me and I sort of wonder if Al Gore will regret having invented the Internet.
If you don't understand something always look for financial interest. Apparently Chicken Little doesn't practice what
he preaches. Unless you call being chairman of a company selling carbon credits that he buys from, to be a good carbon guy.
Back in the 70's Chicken Little was screaming that the earth was cooling. We were headed
for another ice Age and it was all your fault. They however, acted to slowly. Before they could figure out how to rip off
the public the damn earth started warming up. Chicken Little learned his lesson well from that humiliating experience, so
this time they are moving as fast as they can, before the damn planet starts cooling again.
Lot of this carbon nonsense now is up to your choice, but you can bet that they are trying to make it a law. It won't
matter if it's true or not for "The debate is over".
If that happens you and I will pay for it through
taxes, that the government will then give to the Chicken Littles and people like Al Gore, who will get richer at our expense.
